About the role
Job Purpose
Design rugged gimbal hardware with reliable electromechanical integration, harnessing, sealing and thermal management.
Key Responsibilities
- Design hardware architecture for 2-axis/3-axis gimbals and integrate motors, sensors, cameras, PCBs and wiring.
- Ensure mechanical/electrical interfaces, grounding and shielding.
- Select rugged connectors and design serviceable harnesses with routing and strain relief.
- Support UART, RS232, RS485, Ethernet/IP and HDMI/LVDS/MIPI signal interfaces with signal-integrity and EMI/EMC considerations.
- Implement IP65/IP67/IP68 sealing using gaskets, O-rings, compounds and potting.
- Address shock, vibration and thermal requirements, including heatsinks and passive cooling.
- Select BLDC/torque motors, fasteners, brackets and mounting interfaces.
- Conduct IP, shock, vibration and thermal validation; troubleshoot hardware and support field failure analysis.

Requirements
- 3+ years hands-on rugged electromechanical hardware design.
- Connector/harness design, IP ratings, sealing and compact-system integration.
- CAD proficiency and mechanical-design fundamentals.
- Ability to interpret technical datasheets and standards.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- UAV payloads, gimbals or defence/aerospace hardware.
- EMI/EMC design and industrial/military connector standards.
- Thermal simulation, manufacturing processes and vendor coordination.
Qualification & Preferred Industry Exposure
Required qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics Engineering or a related field.
